Chico Elks' Ladies

    As you read this, the Chico Elks Ladies have finished a busy month of May. We had a Tea and Fashion Show on Saturday, May 1, 2010. We also had the Relay for Life on May 1st and 2nd. Everyone had a wonderful time. This will be our last meeting until September 20, 2010, as we will be on summer break.
   Our guest speaker was Karla Wilder Lewis, the daughter-in-law of Polly Lewis. She spoke on the children of Haiti and how she adopted two children from Haiti. She goes down to Haiti regularly to help out in some of the towns with the children. This is something she has done for many years.
   Our monthly raffles were won by Jan Gilmer, Nancy Roberts and Liz Van Eckhardt. We were able to give five scholarships; there will be three from the Craft Ladies and two from the Chico Elk Ladies. Please read Gloria Bickley’s report to find out more.
