Chico Elk’s Bowling League Begins

The Elks’ Bowling League started on
August 30th. When this was written, I did not
have any news. The League can use bowlers
to try and fill teams and maybe add a couple
of teams. There are flyers at the Lodge.
Contact Ernie Ridley, through the Lodge, if you
are interested in bowling. Or just show up at
AMF Orchard Lanes before 6:30 PM on
Monday nights. There are TVs at the Lanes
for Monday Night Football.

On May 8th and May 9th, there were two teams that went to Reno, NV, for the Nationals Bowling Tournament. The members of the teams were from the Red Bluff Lodge #1259, Roseville Lodge #2248 and Chico Lodge #423. Team members were Don Engle, Marlin Keller, Terry Lindblad, Jody Ebright, David Ebright, Gene Wright, Bill Stephens, Jim Becker, Jr., Ernie Ridley and Mike Ridley. We all had a good time and tried to bowl.
The past season, the two Bowling Leagues donated $1,240 to the Major Project of Chico Lodge #423. This was helped by the wives of the bowlers with a bake sale and raffle. Thanks go to Sharon Engle, Joanne Navarro, Carolyn Nagle, Donna Beck and Allie Miguel. If anyone would like to bowl in the Monday night League starting in late  August, please contact Ernie Ridley at 342- 5438 no later than July 15th. We would like to build the League to ten teams. With more bowlers, we also build the Major Project fund.
